Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri is keen on landing one of his best Chelsea players at the Allianz Stadium in the upcoming summer’s transfer window.
Miralem Pjanic has reportedly agreed terms with Barcelona over a potential transfer across to Spain in the summer. Juventus and the Spanish giants are now supposed to talk over a deal between themselves and at least as things stand, everything points towards a swap of players that would see Arthur Melo arrive at Italy ahead of next season.
From the two clubs, it’s a no-brainer that the Bianconeri will be the beneficiary since they will manage to offload an ageing player to land a young midfielder tipped to be the ‘next Xavi Hernandez’. Having said that, the club’s problems wouldn’t be solved by making just one signing for the centre of their park and they require one or two more players.
Paul Pogba has been linked with a sensational return to the Allianz Stadium amid his desire to leave the Old Trafford. The France international is also on Real Madrid’s radar, but Zinedine Zidane’s interest in his compatriot seems to have cooled down now after Federico Valverde has turned up this season firing on all cylinders.
Calcio Mercato has reported that Maurizio Sarri’s intention is to reunite with Jorginho in Turin and will convey his wishes to the board. Jorginho has been excellent under the 61-year-old and has ample experience of playing under him at Napoli as well as Chelsea. The Italy international will be a sensational signing for Juventus.
Jorginho has been spectacular at the Stamford Bridge this season under Frank Lampard, providing the west Londoners comfort going forward with the ball as well as in their bid to win possession. However, he would love to be back under Maurizio Sarri who can practically claim single-handed success for developing the 28-year-old into a world-class player.
With Sami Khedira and Aaron Ramsey catching up to age as well, plus Adrien Rabiot not performing as well as his Paris Saint-Germain days, Jorginho promises to be a great signing all things considered and if partnered with Arthur in the engine room, the duo can provide a lot of control to Juve whose midfield has looked dead lately, frankly speaking.
Juventus’ problems are not potent goal-scorers since they boast the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala– all of whom are regular marksmen. However, the wingers at times have to drop deep to help with the creativity but that may reduce next season if the midfield duo arrives in the Serie A.
In the Champions League, the lack of creativity has cost Juve heavily and on Europe’s biggest stage is where the club will notice a major rise in their proceedings. The defence and attack have done their bit over the last couple of years, but the central players have always cost the club knockout ties or even the title, so that could be about to change soon.
Would you like Paul Pogba back at Juventus even if they manage to sign Jorginho and Arthur?
