Juventus are through to the Coppa Italia final, but it wasn’t easy.

Despite not winning either game of the tie, Juventus are through to the Coppa Italia final on away goals after drawing Milan in the second game of the semifinals. They will face Napoli on Wednesday in the cup final.

Here are five things we learned from the Bianconeri’s cagey second match with the Rossoneri on Friday night at the Allianz Stadium.

Even Cristiano Ronaldo needs some time

Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo had a rare off game against Milan. Not only did he miss what should have been the decisive penalty, but he failed to impose himself on the proceedings for the duration of the match. The striker worked hard to create for others, dropped deep, and even made some ball recoveries to win possession for the Old Lady.

But there was something off about Ronaldo’s game on Friday night. He looked legitimately rusty, which seems unbelievable for a player of his caliber and with his training. Ronaldo’s first touch was poor in many situations, and his communication with Paulo Dybala was frustratingly out of touch, too.

No worries, though. The Portuguese legend should be back at his best when the Serie A games start and when the final against Napoli takes place. He is the least of Juve’s worries. But this game was a reminder that he is no machine on the pitch.
