Danilo is a wonderful backup

Enough with the negative, let’s get back to some of the more positive aspects of the 0-0 draw, such as one of the big performances in defense. Danilo started at right back over regular Juan Cuadrado and turned in a majestic performance, working hard up and down the right flank to allow Paulo Dybala to spend most of his time cutting inside.

The Brazilian was all over the place, reminding fans why he might be the most underrated fullback of his generation. Danilo gets so much unnecessary hate despite being a fantastic passer, quality defender, and calm presence on both ends of the pitch.

He finished the game with four tackles and two key passes, highlighting his all-around impact for Juventus.

It’s great to see Douglas Costa back

Douglas Costa, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Paulo Dybala started as a front three for the first time in the 2019-2020 season, and while they could not return a goal, there are signs that their greatness could bust through in Serie A.

It was wonderful to see Costa back and healthy on the pitch, taking on defenders with gusto and quickness. The Brazilian worked hard to make things happen, putting in teasing crosses and keeping the Milan right back on his toes.

Costa led the team with four dribbles completed and added two key passes. It wasn’t a vintage performance from the former Bayern Munich record signing, but he reminded Juventus fans why he can play a key role in a trophy-laden season in Turin.
