LB Alex Sandro

Alex Sandro had one nice header from a corner and worked extremely hard in this game, but the experienced Brazilian left back’s influence on the match was minimal. Sandro completed 91.5 percent of his passes with two shots on target, per WhoScored.com, but there’s really not much to say about his display. He simply doesn’t add enough to the attack.

Rating: 5.5 out of 10

CB Leonardo Bonucci

Leonardo Bonucci recorded three tackles to lead the team, and he even threatened with one first-time shot in the first half. The Italian center back was better in this game than in many of his other performances in July, but that’s not saying much.

Rating: 6.0 out of 10

CB Daniele Rugani

Merih Demiral’s return to the starting XI can’t come soon enough, because Juventus cannot afford to keep starting Daniele Rugani at center back. He needs to leave the club this summer, because there is no way the Bianconeri can keep giving money to a player who offers nothing to the club.

Rating: 5.5 out of 10

RB Juan Cuadrado

Juan Cuadrado really should have cleared the early cross that led to Cagliari’s first goal, which had no business finding the back of the net. But Cuadrado was also one of the few players creating anything for his teammates. He led the team with 90 passes attempted and eight completed long balls, drawing six fouls in the process. Cuadrado was everywhere offensively, but he was also nowhere to be found defensively, to the detriment of the team.
