Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has been linked to PSG, but it’s probably not happening.

Cristiano Ronaldo has a lot of power. He is the most well-known footballer in the world and is still playing at a high level, as evidenced by the 31 goals he scored for Juventus in the 2019-2020 season. Without his goals, Juve would not have won Serie A, and they would have been even more embarrassed in the Champions League.

For the most part, it has seemed like Ronaldo is happy in Turin, but perhaps the way in which Juve were knocked out by Lyon in the Champions League soured him.

A bombshell report from France Football stated that Ronaldo was close to joining PSG after being frustrated by his team’s performance in a narrow 2-1 Champions League win over Lokomotiv Moscow. But Ronaldo could not join PSG because of COVID-19, so the dream trident of Neymar, Kylian Mbappe, and Ronaldo could not become a reality.

What could also impede Ronaldo joining PSG, even assuming Ronaldo wants to leave Juventus, is PSG’s need to keep Neymar and Mbappe over the long term. And they’d reportedly prefer to focus on paying them than trying to add an older, less well-rounded Ronaldo to their team.

Juventus hiring Andrea Pirlo is a boost for Cristiano Ronaldo

If Ronaldo is upset by the way Juve’s season has went, then he may have been happy to see Maurizio Sarri go. Sarri’s uninspired style of football failed to get the most out of his players, and he didn’t seem to be as ambitious as you’d expect the manager of Juventus to be. Andrea Pirlo, meanwhile, is a legend, and he knows what it takes to compete at the highest level. Perhaps he can be like what Zinedine Zidane was for Ronaldo at Real Madrid.

PSG have made massive signings before, and they could even use players in a swap deal to offset Ronaldo’s wages. It’s hard to rule out PSG from making a big transfer, but, in this case, it’s honestly hard to see Ronaldo going anywhere.

Serie A is a good fit for him, and Juventus will do everything they can to appease one of their two true star players. The Bianconeri have their own targets in mind to boost the team, but they won’t be able to sign anyone anywhere near Ronaldo’s caliber. And if they don’t have Ronaldo, they will be far away from their goals of eventually growing into Europe’s biggest club.
