Juventus would absolutely rob Arsenal with this swap deal

If Juventus can somehow trade Daniele Rugani for a talented Arsenal starter, then the Juventini will be celebrating for days.

Earlier this summer, Juventus pulled off a sensational swap deal when they sent Miralem Pjanic to FC Barcelona for the younger – and arguably better already – Arthur Melo. They continue to have eyes on possible swap deals, including for top Serie A players like Federico Chiesa and Nicolo Zaniolo.

But they are also interested in signing some notable stars from the Premier League. According to a report from TuttoJuve.com, the Bianconeri could try to get starting right back Hector Bellerin from Arsenal. And what would they trade to North London for the fashion icon? Center back Daniele Rugani.

And what a deal what would be. In all honesty, there is no way I get my hopes up with this, because even the wording in the report gives it away. This deal is an idea Juve have to send to Arsenal, which means the Gunners will almost assuredly laugh at the swap and either propose something else or get the Bianconeri to offer something more serious for striker Alexandre Lacazette. He’s the player Juve have been targeting the most on Arsenal.

Juventus would get a starting-quality player in Hector Bellerin

While Arsenal could use a center back, they shouldn’t have interest in Rugani. He’s been woeful this season and doesn’t look like he belongs at a club like Juventus, hence why he’s being shopped so aggressively this summer. Rugani has no future at the club, seeing as how Juve give up more than two goals per 90 with him on the pitch.

As for Bellerin, he would be a starter for Juventus on the right side, though the club needs more help on the left and not the right. Alex Sandro needs competition from a younger player, possibly Real Madrid’s Sergio Reguilon.

But Bellerin would be welcome, allowing Juan Cuadrado to move up the pitch to start on the right wing. While Bellerin has been around for so long, he’s only 25 and could be the future successor to Cuadrado at right back. He’s a good bet to bounce back from an injury-ridden, subpar 2019-2020.

Again, this deal has virtually no shot at happening. Arsenal need a better center back than Rugani, though he is more valuable to them than to Juventus when looking at his bounce-back potential with a change of scenery. But Bellerin is worth more overall. It’s still a good idea for Juve to try, get creative, and see if they can pull this off. Politely asking never hurt anyone.
