Houssem Aouar has seemingly become the most-desired transfer target for Juventus, but the Bianconeri don’t look like the favorites.

After his dominant performances in the 2019-2020 UEFA Champions League knockout stages, including against Juventus, Houssem Aouar has become the top midfield transfer target for many big clubs.

Aouar could cost around 60 million euros and about 50 million at a minimum, but he’s well worth it for Juve. He can be an elite ball-carrying midfielder for Andrea Pirlo, starting attacks and progressing the ball forward for his team as a passer.

Gianluca Momblano reported a couple of days ago that Juventus had already reached an agreement with Houssem Aouar, but that doesn’t appear to be the case.

Because according to Fabrizio Romano, “there’s nothing” saying that Aouar has signed with the Bianconeri. Furthermore, Romano replied to another fan’s question, remarking that Aouar does indeed “want” to join the Premier League. But the reporter added that nobody in the Premier League has offered Lyon 60 million euros for Aouar.

Juventus have already acquired two young midfielders this summer

Manchester City and Arsenal are the two main clubs in England’s top flight who have ben linked to Aouar. The Citizens saw first-hand what Aouar can do to them, too, and Aouar could flourish under Pep Guardiola and alongside the likes of Rodri and Kevin de Bruyne.

As for Arsenal, they should be desperate to sign Aouar, because he would be an absolutely massive upgrade on what they have. Whereas Juventus and Manchester City will play Champions League football, the Gunners cannot offer that to Aouar. But they are a team on the rise with the charismatic Mikel Arteta righting the ship.

It seems like Juve aren’t the favorites to sign Aouar right now, even though the fanbase is excited for him to come. They don’t have much money to spend on transfers, especially if they really do want to push for a dream Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo pairing.

Juve have also just acquired a midfielder in Weston McKennie from Schalke, and while he’s not nearly on the level Aouar is, acquiring Arthur Melo and McKennie gives Juves less reason to spend 60 million euros on Aouar. PSG and City, also interested in the player, have a lot more financial might than Juve right now.
