Juventus added two quality midfielders this summer in Arthur Melo and Weston McKennie, but they could have one more top target in mind.

The early returns on Andrea Pirlo’s new-look Juventus midfield have been positive. Arthur Melo looks like a true game-changer in the center of the pitch, and Schalke loanee Weston McKennie can be a part of the Bianconeri’s future. Adrien Rabiot has been excellent for Juve since the summer. And even Aaron Ramsey is playing a key role under Pirlo.

A lot is finally going right for the Juventus midfield this season, but Fabio Paratici isn’t resting. He’s still monitoring the best midfielders around Europe and thinking about potential offers next summer or even in January. A player like Houssem Aouar would be a dream target, for example.

According to a report from Calciomercato, Juventus are maintaining interest in Udinese star Rodrigo De Paul, who has been one of the best midfielders in Serie A for a few years now. De Paul is Udinese’s clear star and piqued Juve’s interest earlier this year.

The issue here is cost, as Juve would have to spend 35-40 million euros to sign De Paul. Udinese know how important De Paul is to the club’s ability to stay in Serie A, as he is an all-round great midfielder and the team’s superstar in so many ways.

Rodrigo De Paul could be Juventus’ best midfielder if signed

In his prime at the age of 26, De Paul has one goal for Udinese in seven appearances so far this season, but it’s his other stats that are truly jaw-dropping. Per WhoScored.com, De Paul is averaging 2.7 key passes per game, 2.9 dribbles per game, and 3.6 fouls drawn per game.

Those are incredible numbers and show just how brilliant De Paul is. He is truly one of Serie A’s best and would honestly be worth the money. The question is whether or not Juventus can find the money and the fit for De Paul, who would be arguably their best midfielder, even above Arthur and Rabiot.

Between De Paul and Sassuolo’s emerging superstar Manuel Locatelli, the Old Lady certainly have intriguing midfield options on the transfer market in Serie A.
