Juventus striker Alvaro Morata has been one of the team’s top two players this season, but he won’t be available when the Bianconeri face the best team in Serie A.

On Matchday 15 in Serie A, Juventus got the new year off to the right start by defeating Udinese 4-1. Federico Chiesa and Paulo Dybala both scored, while Cristiano Ronaldo delivered another masterclass with two goals and a delightful outside-the-boot assist in an important bounce-back game to fully wash out the taste of the 3-0 loss to Fiorentina.

Alvaro Morata is usually one of the standouts when Juve have a big performance, but the Spanish striker was a late omission from the squad after suffering a muscular injury in his thigh.

According to a report from Sky Sport Italia, Juventus won’t have Morata available for Wednesday night’s pivotal fixture against Milan at the San Siro. Likewise, Milan won’t have their own star striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, on Matchday 16 due to injury.

Losing Morata is a tough blow for the Bianconeri, because the player has registered four goals with five assists in Serie A this season. His link-up play has been exceptional, and he’s done more to help star man Ronaldo than anyone else in the XI. Morata can miss easy chances sometimes, but he’s more than making up for any mistakes with his effort and short passing.

Paulo Dybala must step up for Juventus at Milan with Alvaro Morata injured

Paulo Dybala started alongside Ronaldo against Udinese and played reasonably well. And as always, it’s good to see the struggling superstar score.

Hopefully, Dybala can have a big performance against Milan on Wednesday, because he’ll need to step up more than anyone else with Morata unavailable. More strong performances from the young players like Weston McKennie, Dejan Kulusevski, and Chiesa would also go a long way in making up for Morata’s absence.

Juventini will cross their fingers that Morata recovers swiftly and fully. After the must-win match against Serie A leaders Milan, Juve will face another tough opponent in Sassuolo on Sunday night.
