#6 S.S. Lazio — UEFA Europa League [via 6th place]

Although we have just ended up putting Roma in seventh place, there is a strong possibility of a last-minute dogfight between them and S.S. Lazio for the sixth place on the table.

The Biancocelesti, led by Simone Inzaghi, has built up a reputation of securing top-level European football over the recent years.

However, chances of acquiring Champions League football are very slim this season. But, they could well secure the Europa League spot allotted for the champions of Coppa Italia.

Juventus and Atalanta are set to lock horns for the prize on May 19, 2021, and both teams are likely to finish among the top four sides in Italy (oops! We might have disclosed something we should not have here), hence meaning that the reaming UEL spot will go to the sixth-placed side on the table.

Anyway, Lazio’s upcoming matches are relatively easier than that of Roma, with the Aquile only playing top sides such as Napoli, Milan, and Roma before the end of the 2020-21 season.

#5 AC Milan — UEFA Europa League

In what might seem to be a bold hypothesis (and yes, it is), AC Milan are our pick to obtain a fifth-place finish in this season’s Serie A.

Despite starting the campaign like a conqueror, the last few weeks have soaked all the fuss out of their ambitious title race.

The Rossoneri are now out of the Europa League as well, thanks to the 1-0 home defeat in the Round of 16 of the competition to Manchester United. Milan have a pretty tough run of approaching fixtures before they bid farewell to this domestic season.

And in spite of showing signs of brilliance in part, this Milan side is not thought to be holding onto the second place they currently occupy.

Considering how the opponents might be prepared for a final push and AC Milan’s inadequacy to perform under pressure situations, the bold guess might eventually prove to be the right choice at the end of the day.
