After nine years of continuous domination, Juventus are on the verge of losing out on recoding their 10th consecutive Serie A title this term. Having succumbed to a 1-0 defeat to the relegation-dwellers Benevento, Juventus might have also lost the last hope of retaining the title this season.

However, they might see the campaign finish on a high note, as we believe that Juventus have the gunpowder in their arsenal to capture the second spot by the end of the 2020-21 campaign.

The Bianconeri are the most solid defenders of the league since they have conceded three goals fewer than the runaway league leaders Inter Milan thus far.

Despite the Piedmontese club being a joy-to-watch team on several occasions, it can be asserted that the individual performances from an inconsistent crop of players have cost Juve the title.

Andrea Pirlo and the Juventus enthusiasts will be hoping to have a successful summer transfer window and get back to the business next season. Maybe this season’s reality check would prove to be a blessing in disguise then.

#1 Inter Milan — new Serie A champions!

After witnessing their arch-rivals Juventus continuing their dominance over the Scudetto for almost a decade, Inter Milan are here to snatch the sceptre.

Before Juventus secured their first of the nine consecutive titles and AC Milan won it in 2011, Inter were the boss of Italy, bringing the honour home five times successively during this timeframe (2006–2010).

Holding the hands of a former Juventus boss in Antonio Conte, Inter are edging towards taking over the authority yet again. And at least they have justified that they deserve to be at the top of the table with their consistency and flamboyant executions of designated plans.

They now have a lead of six points over their city rivals and second-placed AC Milan, who have played an extra game over Inter to date.

The Nerazzurri have been on a fine run of late, having not lost a game of football in Serie A since the 2-1 humbling to Sampdoria on January 6, 2021.

It would be disastrous should they now somehow throw away the title during the decisive part of what has been a very prosperous season for Il Biscione.
