Federico Chiesa has been Juve’s second-best player this season behind Cristiano Ronaldo, and he is one of Serie A’s biggest breakout stars as a whole. Chiesa has played his best football since the calendar flipped to 2021, even if the entire team’s performances have not necessarily reflected Chiesa’s individual leap. Currently, Chiesa is riding a streak of two straight Player of the Month awards, based on our player ratings, at least.

With six assists, Chiesa is tied with veteran Serie A star Juan Cuadrado for second on Juventus behind striker Alvaro Morata. He’s also scored six goals, which places him in third behind Ronaldo and Morata. Not bad company at all.

Some people saw Chiesa as a bit of a “reach” signing by Juventus this summer, and the Bianconeri needed to work out a two-year loan deal so that they could defer their payment to Fiorentina in the future.

Chiesa will prove to be worth every cent as well, based on what we have seen from him this season. Even beyond the goals, it is the effort that is most impressive with Chiesa. He never stops fighting in attack and defense, playing like a wing back. Chiesa can start on the left or right, depending on what Andrea Pirlo needs in his XI.
