LB Alex Sandro

Alex Sandro isn’t usually somebody I praise effusively, but the left back had a decent day at the office. He made one key block early in the match, and WhoScored.com tracked him with four clearances. Sandro could have done better with his positioning for Sanabria’s second, but it would be harsh to blame him for the goal allowed.

Offensively, he had two key passes and two dribbles completed, including one great cross for Cristiano Ronaldo that he just headed over the bar.

Rating: 6.0

CB Giorgio Chiellini

The veteran left-sided center back started for Juventus with fellow experienced central defender Leonardo Bonucci out due to a positive COVID-19 test. Giorgio Chiellini finished the game with an assist and did well to clean up danger defensively when it arose. As a whole, it was another quality performance from Chiellini, who is an asset to the squad when he’s healthy.

Rating: 6.5

CB Matthijs de Ligt

Matthijs de Ligt led the team with three interceptions, and he added two tackles and three clearances. He is Juve’s best center back and worked hard in this game against the difficult matchup of Andrea Belotti and Antonio Sanabria. De Ligt completed 95.3 percent of his passes. He and Chiellini can be happy with what they did, as they deserved a clean sheet and did nothing wrong on either goal.

Rating: 7.0

RB Juan Cuadrado

Juan Cuadrado was vital to Juve’s attack, even if he did not register an assist like in the last Derby della Mole. But Cuadrado did make some mistakes, too. He was fortunate not to get red-carded after a horrible, two-footed lunge. Had he actually made contact with the Torino player, he would have 100 percent received his marching orders instead of a yellow card. Aside from that, Cuadrado had three key passes and drew six fouls, doing whatever he could to carry the attack in lieu of a competent midfield. In total, he had a whopping 22 crosses. If only his final ball were better.
