Juventus are headed for another summer of changes, and it seems like all bets are off. Because silly season would have you believe that even superstars like Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala are up for grabs. That’s not even mentioning the likes of Adrien Rabiot, Aaron Ramsey, and Federico Bernardeschi, who are fully expected to leave if Juve can find buyers.

The reality is that most players on Juventus are probably not going anywhere. Think of solid role players like Danilo, Leonardo Bonucci, Weston McKennie, Arthur Melo, and Juan Cuadrado as players who are safe. Even Dybala and Ronaldo are unlikely to leave, no matter what the “juicy” rumors would have you think.

But in truth, there are really only two players on the Bianconeri who are 100 percent unsellable. That is to say, the idea of them leaving the club is unthinkable, and Juventus should never even consider any offer for either player, no matter how astronomical that offer may be.

Those two players are 21-year-old center back Matthijs de Ligt and 23-year-old wide midfielder Federico Chiesa.

Federico Chiesa, Matthijs de Ligt give their all to Juventus

For as many decisions as Juventus management has gotten wrong in the last few years, Chiesa and de Ligt are the definition of home runs in the last two summer transfer windows. Juve paid a pretty penny for both young stars, but, clearly, it is money well-spent.

De Ligt is one of the best center backs in Europe, and it is extraordinary to think that a player with his leadership and mentality in central defense is just 21. Juventini can easily envision him wearing the armband and becoming the next legendary center back in Turin.

Then there is Chiesa, who has been one of the signings of the summer in Serie A. Chiesa has been Juve’s second-best player this season behind Ronaldo, standing out as the team’s very best player in multiple months. All told, the former Fiorentina man has seven goals and seven assists in the league this season.

Chiesa and de Ligt are the kinds of players every fanbase loves to have in their team. Not only are they young, ascending talents who are already playing at a high level, but they are also willing to give everything for the team. De Ligt is always putting his body on the line to block shots and ordering teammates, even though most of them are about a decade older than he is. And then there is Chiesa, who is an attacking outlet with the mentality of a fullback in defense.

Neither player can leave Juventus. The Old Lady need to build the team around these two men, and add a couple of other players on the rise to support them in the next decade. Chiesa and de Ligt are already borderline world-class talents and can become two of the very best players in Serie A within a few years.
