Juventus could be in for an eventful summer transfer market this year. Not only are they being linked to some of Serie A’s finest talents in Manuel Locatelli, Rodrigo De Paul, and Robin Gosens, but they could also lose a few notable names.

Let’s take a look at four key players on the Bianconeri who could be playing for a different team in the 2021-2022 season.

CB Giorgio Chiellini

There are plenty of retirement rumors surrounding Giorgio Chiellini. So while it is difficult to envision the Italian center back and Juventus legend playing in anything other than Black and White stripes before his career comes to a close, his career could very well come to a close this summer, depending on his stance and Juve’s outlook.

At the end of the day, the decision to retire is Chiellini’s and Chiellini’s alone to make. But Juve can influence his decision by telling him, one way or another, if he figures into their plans next season as a key player.

Chiellini has still started a number of matches this season, playing nearly 1,200 Serie A minutes to this point of the 2020-2021 campaign. Only injuries have prevented him from accruing more game time. But precious minutes must be allocated to Merih Demiral, too, lest the talented Turkish international decides to leave.

Even at 36, Chiellini remains a quality left-sided center back for the Bianconeri. But he may have written his last chapter in Turin this season.
