Individually, nobody played well

Wojciech Szczesny had a penalty save, but he also made a huge error that Brahim Diaz took perfect advantage of to open the scoring. So in light of that, I cannot say that a single player on Juventus performed well. Maybe Matthijs de Ligt, but that’s it. So one center back played decently well, and everyone else was either poor or downright awful.

Some of it is on Pirlo for not putting players in a position to succeed and for having so few ideas in implementing a tactical gameplan offensively.

But the players need to shoulder just as much of the blame. We saw so many brainless individual errors. Letting Ante Rebic roam wide open in a central region of the pitch just outside the penalty box? Could you imagine what Pep Guardiola or Diego Simeone would do to center backs and center midfielders who ceded this level of defensive security?

The giveaways from Rodrigo Bentancur continue to be backbreaking. Alvaro Morata works hard for the team, but sometimes he is a turnover machine offensively. He completed only 61.1 percent of his passes! Even for a striker, that is horrible. And especially so for a player who is literally there to link-up play.

Pirlo will very likely lose his job after this horrific display. But you know what? Alex Sandro, Giorgio Chiellini, Adrien Rabiot, Alvaro Morata, Rodrigo Bentancur, and Weston McKennie should not be starting next season.
