4. Gianpiero Combi

Next up on the list is Gianpiero Combi, who was born in Turin and never played for any other club. His career with Juventus began in 1921 and ended in 1934, spanning one of the club’s golden ages. Combi was one of the big stars of a Juve side that set the tone for the organization’s ensuing greatness, and while the goal-scorers may have overshadowed him, the Torino native is remembered by Calcio fans as one of the greatest goalkeepers in the country’s history.

He won a total of five Serie A titles before calling it a career, ending his illustrious career as a Serie A Champion and a World Cup Champion, captaining his national team to glory as Dino Zoff would nearly 50 years later. And in 1935, Combi even added a second Central European International Cup to his trophycase.

Combi’s record of 934 minutes without a goal conceded in Serie A remained unbeaten for 90 years until another Juventino broke it. And yes, that Juventus player was none other than Gianluigi Buffon in 2015-16.

There’s something special about a goalkeeper who excelled at the highest level for Juventus without ever playing for another club. Combi will always hold a special place in the hearts of Juventini, and he’s a player whose accomplishments should humble any Juventino.
