Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo could be headed for the exit door if the Bianconeri do not defeat Bologna on Sunday night in the final match of the Serie A season. The Bianconeri secured the Coppa Italia at mid-week by beating Atalanta 2-1, but their Champions League future hangs in the balance on the final Serie A matchday.
Even if Juve win and make it into the marquee competition, Ronaldo could still be disgruntled with all that has transpired this season. So let’s take a look at some summer moves that could help convince the No. 7 to stay fully committed to Juventus.
Signing Robin Gosens from Atalanta
Robin Gosens is one of the hardest-working wide men in Italian football. There may be some manufactured drama by the press between Gosens and Ronaldo based around a shirt snub, but that’s a non-issue here.
Ronaldo knows what Gosens can bring to the table, and Gosens knows the prestige associated with playing for the Bianconeri.
Gosens can add good defending, goal contributions, and a whole lot of running and chance-creation down that left flank for Juve. He can play at either left back or left midfielder in Andrea Pirlo’s 4-4-2. And if Pirlo goes with a back three, Gosens is obviously a perfect fit, given his role with La Dea.
