Keeping Paulo Dybala as a Juventus player

Cristiano Ronaldo is the main superstar on Juventus, but he isn’t the only superstar in Turin. Paulo Dybala’s had a forgettable 2020-2021 campaign due to injury, but fans cannot forget how important he has been to the club over the years and the quality he possesses. It’s quality he showed in a brief instant off the bench when Juve picked up a vital three points over Napoli in the top-four race.

Although some members of the press want to make it seem like Dybala and Ronaldo cannot co-exist, the reality is that they are close friends and have shown on multiple occasions that they can work well together. They were brilliant to close the 2019-2020 season during the lockdown period when Juve last secured the Scudetto.

Dybala’s future hangs in the balance with one year left on his contract. Juventus don’t have much money, and their coffers will be truly close to barren if they fail to secure Champions League football next season. La Joya’s contract demands are not easy to satisfy, and Juve may have to sell him at less than market value as opposed to renewing him if they fall to the Europa League.

And losing Dybala would significantly affect how Ronaldo takes stock of this Juventus side. Dybala is the only player who can truly hang with Ronaldo from a skill perspective, though, of course, Federico Chiesa is quietly getting close.
