#2 Paulo Dybala

The heart-throb of every Juventus fan, Paulo Dybala is standing on the periphery of his Juventus career. Donning No. 10 on his back, Dybala, who has made 254 appearances (per Transfermarkt) and racked up 100 goals and 41 assists to date since joining the club in 2015 from Palermo, is about to enter the last 12 months on his current terms at the Piedmontese club.

Nicknamed as “La Joya”, the Córdoba-born diminutive Argentine is to leave the club for free next year should things stay as they are. And since Juventus will not get to recuperate any transfer fee from the apparent departure, several rumours have claimed that Juve might consider selling the magician this summer in order to pocket a substantial transfer fee.

But now with Allegri making his comeback, the 27-year-old might look forward to staying put at Turin and seeing out his peak years at Juventus. It was Allegri who signed Dybala from Palermo for an initial fee of  €32 million. And it could be Allegri who might make Dybala continue his fantastic career in northern Italy.

In the 2020-21 season, Dybala failed to emulate the performances of his previous years, only logging three goals and nine assists (via FBref.com) from 20 Serie A appearances, notably down to the muscular injury he suffered last January. The 2021-22 season will be Dybala’s opportunity to get his mojo back on the track. And having a person like Allegri by his side will only help the cause.
