You might’ve heard those stories from your parents or your grandparents in your childhood or seen the movies where raiders — in a large number — raid a village, loot all their valuable commodities, and subsequently leave for the time being; after some time, they return and do the same again. The rumours of Cristiano Ronaldo leaving Juventus are like those robbers. When the results start going south, those speculations come; and when everything seems right, they disappear.

So, what is the latest regarding Ronaldo and his future in Turin? Federico Cherubini, Juve’s new sporting director, remains confident about Ronaldo’s future in Italy, with Fabio Paratici’s replacement confirming, “I don’t have the crystal ball, but right now there are no signals regarding a possible transfer [for Ronaldo].”

Taking holding of the Portuguese great will be deemed as an essential part of the club’s future and Allegri’s plans for the upcoming campaign. The winner of 2020/21 Capocannoniere, Ronaldo was Juventus’ top scorer across all competitions with 36 goals from 44 games (per Transfermarkt) including 29 in 33 Serie A matches.

In the recently-finished European Championship, he won the Golden Boot with five goals to his name despite Portugal exiting the tournament in the first knock-out game of the competition.

Therefore, we just can’t think of a Juventus side without Ronaldo in it at the moment. The Portuguese phenomenon has just one year left in his Juve contract. We don’t know what would happen if Ronaldo were to leave Juventus this summer. But, it is safe to say, at least, that the future of the club would be far from a relaxing one.
