Robin Gosens: A forbidden dream?

Speaking of one of the prominent performers of last season’s Serie A, Robin Gosens’ name appears on the top tier. When Atlanta was feeling an ecstasy for having the German wing-back at their disposal, Juventini were conspiring, dreaming of an early summer move for the 27-year-old prodigy.

However, everything has now changed, following Gosens’ outstanding end to the Serie A campaign as well as his inspiring part in Germany’s run in the recently-finished European Championship.

Gosens is now valued more than what it was one year back. Back then, it could’ve been a transfer for around €40m, but, after his performances this summer, Gonsens’ services are now deemed to be much more expensive.

According to a recent report from Tuttomercatoweb, Juventus remain interested in signing the left-footer. Atalanta are also open to listening to any offer that may arrive for the German this summer. But the only requirement is that the offer will have to reflect the true value of Robin Gosens, meaning he is not available at a cheap price.

On the contrary, Juventus, having felt the financial onus in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, wouldn’t be able to meet those conditions regarding the asking price for Gosens this summer.

Consequently, Gian Piero Gasperini has decided to keep the German in his plans for the approaching 2021/22 season. For now, Robin Gosens, the scorer of 10 non-penalty goals and provider of six assists from 32 Serie A appearances last season, seems like nothing but a “forbidden dream” to the Old Lady and its enthusiasts.
