Attackers

In the goalscoring department, Juventus are crammed with sensational prodigies. Federico Chiesa, Dejan Kulusevski, Federico Bernardeschi, Paulo Dybala, Álvaro Morata (who has extended his loan stay at Juventus for another year), and Cristiano Ronaldo (who is likely to continue his adventure with the Piedmontese club) are all vying to prove their worth again under Allegri, their new gaffer.

While there is no doubt at all that Juventus seem well-equipped at the moment, there certainly is room for another striker. Signing a backup number nine for Morata should be among Juve’s priorities this summer. So far, they have been linked to numerous striking options. But here are how the stories have panned out.

Kaio Jorge (4/5): Kiao Jorge is one of the most recent players to make the transfer headlines for Juventus. The 19-year-old is touted to be one of the most promising youngsters across South American football. Juventus have increased the pace of their pursuit lately, and now reportedly leading the race to land the Brazilian. Juventus are understood to have reached an agreement with the player’s agent. the striker’s contract with Santos will expire in December 2021. Maybe the Italian club would choose to wait until he becomes a free agent. This might not be a summer transfer but has all the ingredients to be an interesting one, no?

Gabriel Jesus (3/5): La Gazzetta dello Sport (via GIFN) have provided us with the latest update on Juventus’ hunt for Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus. The story notes that Juventus’ ultimate decision hinges on whether or not Man City are able to lure Harry Kane away from Tottenham Hotspur. Spurs are confident that they could hold onto Kane for at least another season, but if they fail, Juventus are supposedly willing to bring in Jesus for a season-long loan deal.

Dušan Vlahović (2/5): Yes, he doesn’t get the same attention as a certain blonde Norwegian, but Fiorentina’s Dušan Vlahović is a blossoming superstar in his own right. The Serb racked up 21 goals in Serie A last season for a toothless Fiorentina side, attaining recognition and gaining attention from clubs in the Premier League and La Liga. As a result of which, Juventus have discovered themselves in a severe fray for Vlahović, who has enticed the eyes of Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and several other European heavyweights. With Fiorentina, on the other hand, preparing a bumper deal for the Juventus target (as per La Gazzetta dello Sport via Besoccoer.com), he’s likely to remain in Florence for the time being.

Mauro Icardi (2/5): Icardi has extensively been linked with a move back to Italy this summer. The former Inter Milan player joined PSG in 2019 and has since understandably been on the radar of Juventus. It has been recently put to the transfer columns that Icardi and Allegri have a “mutual interest in each other”. Despite struggling a lot from relentless injury issues, Icardi, at 28, could play as a cover for Morata. Juventus currently need a forward of that sort.

Moise Kean (1/5): During his one-year loan in Paris, Kean was effective, scoring 13 Ligue 1 goals from 26 matches. He has been one of the former academy graduates to get constantly linked with a journey back to where he learnt the ABC of football. Sadly, according to AS (via Calciomercato), PSG are now leading the race to re-sign Kean but this time on a permanent deal. Since Juventus currently lack the financial muscle to lock horns with PSG, we don’t anticipate that Kean would join the Old Lady this summer.
