Santos have confirmed the departure of Kaio Jorge to Juventus.
The 19-year-old striker had reportedly agreed personal terms with both Juve and AC Milan, while Santos were initially keen to sell Jorge to Benfica, who were willing to meet their demands for a player whose contract expires in the winter.
Jorge wanted Serie A, though, and the Bianconeri swiftly moved ahead in the race to sign the teenager. The club agreed a deal with Santos on Sunday that could be worth up to €4m and the Brazilian club have now confirmed the departure of their young centre-forward prospect.

“Santos FC and Juventus have entered into an agreement for the sale of striker Kaio Jorge this Monday (2 August). The Italian team has accepted the terms and the player will now be released to play in Europe,” said Santos in a statement.
“Juventus has reached the conditions we presented and which we believe were the best at the moment for the Club, given the scenario we faced.
“Good luck to Kaio Jorge, another kid from here who we hope will follow his path well,” added Santos president Andres Rueda.
“Born in Olinda (PE), Kaio Jorge is 19 years old and arrived in Vila Belmiro in 2013 to play in the sub-11. In the professional team, he wore the Santos shirt 84 times and scored 17 goals. Santos FC wish the athlete good luck.”
Jorge is set to arrive in Turin later this week to complete a medical and, providing everything goes well, officially sign for the club. The teenager’s expected to go straight into Massimiliano Allegri’s first team and provide competition for the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Alvaro Morata.
