Going into the game against Atalanta this weekend, Allegri will have almost a full-fit squad at his disposal. Only players such as Arthur and Adrien Rabiot are understood to be the missing members.

The Brazilian midfielder just underwent surgery on his right leg and is expected to be at the sideline for the next three months or so. Adrien Rabiot is reportedly nursing a low-grade lesion of the rectus femoris muscle of the left thigh and could miss the game due to that particular issue.

Romeo Agresti (via @ForzaJuveEN Twitter) suggests that Paulo Dybala, following his injury-laden spell, is likely to return to action and play a part in the game on Saturday.

Dybala’s return would be a huge relief for Allegri and La Joya’s devotees. Without Dybala on the pitch, Juventus often lack that cutting edge in the creative department. It would also be interesting to see where Allegri slots the Argentine and how he fields his starting eleven.

The returnee boss used quite a few tweaks here and there against Barcelona. Not everything was successful, but failure is inevitable considering just how experimental the Italian has been.

This will be his last chance to observe and weigh up the strengths and weaknesses of this Juventus outfit. We might get some indications of how he’d like to approach and what could be his preferred formation and attacking combinations up-front for the opening game week of the 2021/22 season.

The heart is beating faster, and drops of perspiration have begun to make their way onto the forehead. There awaits another campaign of enthralling Italian football ahead of us!
