Juventus are looking to bring back striker Moise Kean to the club amid their search for a Cristiano Ronaldo replacement.

It was reported yesterday that Ronaldo would never play for Juventus again as he looks to push through a move to Manchester City. Personal terms have supposedly been agreed with the Cityzens, but the two clubs are yet to agree a fee.

The 36-year-old said his goodbyes to teammates at Continassa on Friday morning.

Ronaldo’s departure obviously leaves a huge void in the Juventus dressing room, although the Bianconeri have been proactive in their search for a replacement.

Gianluca Scamacca and Mauro Icardi were touted as possibilities, but it appears the club have tunnel vision for the return of Moise Kean.

Kean left Juventus after bursting onto the scene with six Serie A goals during the 2018/19 campaign. His big-money move to Everton has been a disaster, however. Although, he impressed at times while out on loan at Paris Saint-Germain last season. The 21-year-old scored 13 times in 26 Ligue 1 appearances before returning to Merseyside in the summer.

No loan

Juventus are working on bringing back Kean to the club before the window closes. The Athletic’s David Ornstein reports that a permanent deal or a loan with an obligation to buy is likely.

However, with Kean under contract at Everton until 2024, the Toffees will still be able to demand a high fee despite the Italian’s struggles in England.

Thus, a loan with an obligation to buy appears more likely considering the Bianconeri’s precarious financial situation. Although, they’re set to receive around €30m from Ronaldo’s sale and get the 36-year-old’s monster salary off their books which could facilitate a permanent transfer this summer, which Everton would prefer.

While some might be underwhelmed by a Kean reunion considering the profile of the icon he’s replacing, Juventus view this move as one with huge upside. The 21-year-old Kean has shown flashes of the talent he manifested during his first spell in Turin and is sure to be welcomed back to the club with open arms by the man who gave him his senior debut in Bianconeri colours, Massimiliano Allegri.
