2. Transformative Locatelli

Sassuolo’s Manuel Locatelli was Juve’s priority target throughout the summer and following the dullest of transfer sagas, the Old Lady eventually got the deal done. The financially friendly deal was a superb bit of work from the club’s hierarchy. How they persuaded Sassuolo to agree on such a deal considering how stubborn they were throughout the negotiation process I do not know.

Nevertheless, the 24-year-old’s a transformative addition for the Bianconeri. The midfield has been a problem area for the Bianconeri since the dissolution of the great Paul Pogba, Claudio Marchisio, Andrea Pirlo triumvirate but Locatelli will go a long way to offering a solution. There’s hope he can replicate the career of Il Principino Marchisio in Turin. While an optimistic prophecy, their profiles aren’t too dissimilar.

While I won’t delve too much into Locatelli’s skill set and tactical impact, those words have already been written, he’s a player that’ll contribute so much in all phases; providing Massimiliano Allegri with a stabilising force in the middle of the park.

Alongside Dybala, Chiesa, de Ligt and possibly Bentancur, Locatelli’s a sure bet to emerge as a cornerstone of Juventus for the next decade.
