So, there we have it. The 2021 summer transfer window is in the books and Massimiliano Allegri now knows what squad he’ll be working with for the 2021/22 campaign.

For most, the exit of Cristiano Ronaldo means Juventus have weakened despite the arrival of priority target Manuel Locatelli from Sassuolo. Nevertheless, there’s still plenty of reasons for optimism following Juventus’ recent work in a COVID-impacted transfer market.

However, a nagging question has now manifested. How will Allegri line up his Juventus side in the absence of Ronaldo? Earlier this summer, we had a go at predicting the returning boss’ favoured XI for the season and even predicted the all-time great’s departure! A lot’s changed, though. New arrivals will be competing for spots, while the manager’s pragmatic, flexible style means it’s difficult to settle upon a default system for this side. In Juve’s opening two games, we’ve seen Allegri deploy two variants of a 4-4-2.

For this predicted XI, however, we’ve chosen a 4-3-3. We saw it throughout pre-season and it’s a system that could work considering the profile of this Juventus squad. Without further ado, let’s see who made our team.

Wojciech Szczesny (GK) – You feel that Szczesny’s another calamitous display from surrendering his number one status following his horror show on Matchday 1 and indifferent campaign last time out. Mattia Perrin is patiently waiting in the wings and is as reliable a number two as you’re likely to find. However, we’re backing Tek to bounce back from a poor start to 2021/22 and retain his place in the XI throughout the season.
