Manuel Locatelli (CM) – 7.5/10 – This was an atypical Locatelli display. Not because he was bad, but because his fine effort was built off defensive resilience. Tuchel sought to shut out the Italian by using Ziyech as a man-marker in Chelsea’s 5-2-1-2 out of possession structure. The Blues had success in taming Locatelli in possession. However, the midfielder proved he’s much more than a pretty passer. He crunched into tackles, flew into blocks and put his body on the line amid Juve’s stellar collective effort.

Rodrigo Bentancur (CM) – 7/10 – The Uruguayan may not know how to pass a football to a black and white shirt but boy, can he run. His defensive effort was relentless. He didn’t give Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic a moments rest.

Adrien Rabiot (CM) – 5.5/10 – The Frenchman was perhaps the only starter who struggled. Although, he did produce one majestic switch of play in the build-up to Bernardeschi’s chance and he defended the left half-space diligently – as he did last season. However, there were several frustrating giveaways in transition that allowed Chelsea to sustain pressure.
