Juan Cuadrado (RW) – 7/10 – The Colombian played a key role in Juve’s defensive resilience. After starting out higher upfield, Allegri quickly altered his role. He became a de facto wing-back, tasked with man-marking Marcos Alonso. He did so superbly, although the veteran offered little with the ball barring his delicate touch for Bernardeschi.

Federico Bernardeschi (CF) – 7/10 – Juve’s flexibility meant Bernardeschi didn’t play as “falso nove” as reported pre-match. He popped up on both flanks and down the middle. After a fairly quiet first half, the Italian was bright after the break, serving as Juve’s ‘linker’ in transition with Allegri shifting to a 5-3-1-1. The assist for Chiesa was subtle but delightful. He did, however, produce one of the misses of the season that would’ve put Juve 2-0 up.

Federico Chiesa (LW) – 8.5/10 – Chiesa was Juve’s sole outlet in this one following Allegri’s ploy with Cuadrado. His goal epitomised his brilliance: a blindside run to beat Antonio Rudiger and an instinctive left-footed finish to beat Edouard Mendy. The Italian’s opener came after a first half in which he toyed with the Chelsea defence at times, producing some wonderful sequences in transition. Superstar.
