2. Winner vs Chelsea
Big. Game. Player.
Very few, including myself, gave Juventus a chance as they welcomed the European champions to Turin for a Matchday 2 encounter in this season’s Champions League group stage.
But, thanks to the brilliance of Massimiliano Allegri, a defensive resolve we haven’t seen in Piedmont for a while, and Chelsea’s own indifference, Juve prevailed as 1-0 victors.
And, of course, it was that man Chiesa who grabbed the winner; stunning the visitors at the start of the second half with a superb left-footed finish after outfoxing Antonio Rudiger with a smart blindside run.
The goal was the mere icing on a dazzling display that shook a secure Chelsea backline. Chiesa’s electricity, speed and relentlessness all manifested against the Blues as he once again stole the show on a big European night.
