Federico Bernardeschi is not in any better place than Weston McKennie or Mattia De Sciglio. The only different aspect here is that Bernardeschi is getting regular chances or at least getting more minutes than those two to prove himself at Juventus. As per Fbref.com, Bernardeschi has six appearances, including four starts, to his name in Serie A this season. Nevertheless, there has been no evidence in the form of numbers for all that playing time.

Since the start of the campaign, Bernardeschi has played in different midfield and forward positions. But the only assist from the 27-year-old’s feet came in the crucial UEFA Champions League game against Chelsea, with Juventus clinching a 1-0 victory in September.

In that game, Bernardeschi played in the “false nine” position. It would be interesting to see whether Allegri chooses to field him in the same position in another intense match against Roma this weekend.

According to the data from Transfermarkt, Bernardeschi has started in five different positions across the field this season for Juventus so far, showcasing his individual versatility and adaptability. In the absence of Paulo Dybala, he will play an integral part in spurring the overall creativity of the team.

His left foot has gone quiet for a long time. A cult hero for many, Bernardeschi himself must be yearning for something spectacular. A game against AS Roma provides him with the perfect platform to showcase his traits in front of his devotees. Considered a darling in the eyes of the manager, Federico Bernardeschi would like to cement his place in Allegri’s starting XI. We’ll see how that goes.
