Juan Cuadrado (RM) – 4.5/10 – An indifferent display from Cuadrado who, like Alex Sandro, seemed scared to go forward in the first half. He was positioned higher upfield after the break following the switch to 4-4-2, but he had little impact before his withdrawal.

Manuel Locatelli (CM) – 5.5/10 – Not Locatelli’s finest day at the office. The Italian failed to control proceedings and was occasionally caught in no-man’s-land positionally. The summer arrival was far from poor, but these are the games we expect him to grab a hold of.

Weston McKennie (CM) – 6.5/10 – Amid a turgid first-half display, McKennie was the sole energy source without possession. He was superb in this phase throughout and proved a pesky annoyance for the Inter midfield. In the second half, he performed the hybrid function he often played to a high standard last season and produced a few neat touches in and around the Inter box. Another bright display from the American.

Federico Bernardeschi (LM) – 5/10 – His evening was brought to an abrupt halt after 15 minutes following an innocuous shoulder injury. Replaced by Rodrigo Bentancur.
