If Napoli have Lorenzo Insigne, then Hellas Verona have Gianluca Caprari. An underrated talent in the Italian footballing landscape, Gianluca Caprari has played his best football for Verona this season, logging three goals and four assists in Serie A 2021/22.

Thanks to his diminutive figure, the Roma academy graduate appears to be much like Insigne, twisting and turning opponents with the help of his low centre of gravity and often trying out those right-footed inswinging curlers from outside the box.

Replicating those Insigne trademarks and being successful with such endeavours, however, are two different things. Caprari has experienced both. Against Spezia, his first-time shot kissed the back of the net, reflecting the same venom so familiar to the Napoli faithful.

Known for his shrewdness down the left channel in Verona’s attack, Gianluca Caprari is the second-highest assist-provider in Serie A this season — only one assist away from the leader in Inter’s Nicolo Barella.

On loan from Sampdoria, the 28-year-old started the midweek game from the bench. He should be pumped up for the mega event on Saturday. Performing the same role as Barák but down the left, the former Pescara star could cause havoc in the Juve defence.
