Take a look at this face, Juventini. He might come to haunt you before Halloween. Having already registered six goals and two assists from eight appearances, Giovanni Simeone has matched the tally he recorded while playing for Cagliari last season.

On top of that, Simeone, who joined Tudor’s men on loan from Cagliari in the summer transfer window, went on to score each of Verona’s four goals against Lazio last weekend, outlining the form that the Argentine is enjoying at this very moment. Ciro Immobile and Edin Dzeko are the only two players that have netted more goals than Verona’s number 99 in Serie A this season.

Aged 26, Simeone’s bulky physicality is considered one of his lethal aspects in front of goal. Not only is he a dominant figure aerially, but his smart link-up play also catches defenders by surprise.

Juventus succumbed to Sassuolo’s quick combinations and a penetrative run from deep as Davide Frattesi opened the scoring on Wednesday. Giovanni Simeone must be licking his lips after witnessing that movement and those shortcomings in the Bianconeri’s rearguard. Henceforth, Juventus defenders must be mindful of the former River Plate prospect’s runs from the deep.

This season, Simeone has shown that he is a complete striker and an aspirant for the coveted Capocannoniere.
