Mario Pašalić has made a flying start to his 2021/22 season in Italy. He’s been the surprise package of this ongoing campaign for Atalanta. Having logged four goals and five assists from 13 appearances in the league, the Germany-born Croatia international has emerged as one of the most productive assets in the top tier of Italian football this campaign.

The right-footed playmaker has enjoyed a fine run of form as of late. Last weekend, Atalanta racked up a 5-2 win over Spezia. In that game, not only did the Croat pick up a brace, but also he registered an assist. His efforts ultimately helped La Dea thump the Serie A minnows. He also had a goal against Cagliari in the previous matchday.

In midweek, he registered an assist against Young Boys. Thus, this current purple patch makes Pašalić one of the most in-form players for La Dea and one of the obvious threats against Juventus. His involvement has somewhat gone under the radar so far.

Operating behind the central forward, the 26-year-old has completed 4.35 passes into the final third, as per FBref.com. The numbers remain his individual best for Atalanta so far. Pašalić is poised to make most of his fine form on Saturday, making him an intriguing prospect ahead of the game.
