Arthur Melo is in contention to make just his second start of the season on Wednesday night. His first, away at Hellas Verona, began with a horrible error that led to Juve conceding the opener and concluded with a hooking just after the hour mark.

He’s barely seen the field since; limited to insignificant cameo appearances off the bench.

Arthur’s Juventus career has failed to get off the ground, but it wasn’t expected to take this much of a plunge south after he returned from injury a month into the new season. For many, the metronomic Brazilian was the ideal partner for Manuel Locatelli. They didn’t envisage the club readying the midfielder for a January sale.

But, according to Nicolo Schira, that’s exactly what Juventus are doing. Arthur could depart on loan this winter and Sevilla are said to boast an interest.

With Locatelli, Rodrigo Bentancur and Weston McKennie all shining in recent weeks, this could be Arthur’s last chance to highlight his credentials in Bianconeri colours. He’s expected to start on Wednesday in what could be his last for the club.
