Arthur Melo (CM) – 7/10 – The Brazilian wasn’t at his best at Bologna but he was much improved tonight. He was efficient but, crucially, progressive in possession and robust in the defensive phase. Those pirouettes out of pressure are magical to watch!

Adrien Rabiot (CM) – 6/10 – Rabiot was replaced by Weston McKennie at half-time but I thought he was pretty good in the opening 45 minutes. The Frenchman was robust, counter-pressed effectively and retained possession well for the most part.

Rodrigo Bentancur (CM) – 5.5/10 – Bentancur was fairly quiet in this one, although he did get 90 minutes under his belt. He failed to have much of an influence in possession despite looking comfortable when he dropped deeper to support Arthur.
