Mino Raiola is trying his utmost to get Matthijs de Ligt out of Juventus, and it’s slightly annoying. The Dutchman is enjoying a fine campaign under Massimiliano Allegri following two years of indifference, but Raiola is incessant on finding his client a new club in 2022.

Juventus will try their best to retain the potential superstar defender’s services, and De Ligt’s hefty buyout clause will likely deter most interested clubs. As a result, Raiola is attempting to bargain with the Bianconeri and renegotiate the Dutchman’s contract that includes a lower, more enticing clause for clubs to trigger.

Hopefully, Juve (and De Ligt) refuse to give in to the gluttonous desires of the super-agent because the former Ajax sensation has all the makings of a future Juventus captain. Alongside Paulo Dybala and Federico Chiesa, De Ligt should be regarded as one of the lead protagonists in Allegri’s rebuild and a cornerstone of the Old Lady for the next decade.

However, the possibility of him departing next summer is real thanks to Raiola, and we have to consider this dreaded potentiality. Clubs across Europe have been linked with being what Raiola describes as the player’s “next step” and here are six clubs who could sign the Dutchman next year.

European champions Chelsea have been strongly linked with a move De Ligt and they certainly have the financial muscle to pull of the move. Although the player’s wages may be an issue – the Dutchman is currently Juventus’ highest-earner.

The Blues are keen to add a centre-back to their ranks with Antonio Rudiger likely to leave on a free transfer at the end of the season.

De Ligt is among their options, but alternatives are also on the table, namely Sevilla’s Jules Kounde.
