Pedro toyed with the devil in the summer by moving across the fierce Derby della Capitale divide to join Lazio on a free transfer following a season with Roma.

He became just the fourth person in history to directly join the Biancocolesti from the Giallorossi and the first since Astutillo Malgioglio in 1985. It’s blasphemy in the eyes of Roman ultras, and Pedro’s stellar form for Lazio will have only deepened their disdain (he also scored in the opening derby of the season!).

The Spaniard has been a revelation for Maurizio Sarri’s side thus far. He’s the club’s second top-scorer in Serie A with seven strikes, behind only Ciro Immobile’s 13, and he ranks third for goal contributions (ten).

Overall, Pedro’s playing like he’s 24 again. He’s a spritely figure down both flanks, a distinct contributor to Sarri’s press and has the knack for scoring the spectacular. The forward’s strike against Venezia in Lazio’s final game of 2021 was Diego Maradona-esque.
