Manuel Locatelli (CM) – 8/10 – The first swashbuckling switch of play from Locatelli in 2022 was a sumptuous one, and it came amid a superb opening to the game from the Italian. His influence wasn’t quite as distinct as the contest wore on, but Locatelli proved in the first half just how good he can be in a deeper role. The majority of his actions were executed to perfection.

Weston McKennie (CM) – 6/10 – It was a brilliant run from McKennie in behind that kick-started the move for Chiesa’s leveller. Such runs are invaluable because they’re so difficult to track. The American started brightly without possession, but this wasn’t his best outing with the ball. A few too many unforced errors, although there were a couple of nice moments in transition.

Adrien Rabiot (CM) – 5/10 – A quiet outing for Rabiot. The midfielder wasn’t a contributor in the build-up and barring the rare penetrative surge down the left, he offered little in the final third. His missed opportunity was a mere half-chance.
