Juventus are about to pull off arguably the most significant winter transfer in their history. For many, the idea of signing Fiorentina hitman Dusan Vlahović was nothing short of a pipe dream.

Alternatives were sounded out with the suspected finances involved surely too great for even a club of Juve’s stature, who have been hit hard by the pandemic. But, they’re pulling it off.

Initial reports emerged on Monday night of the club readying an offer for Vlahović and by Tuesday afternoon, Fiorentina had an agreement in place with Juve over the Serbian striker’s transfer. The 21-year-old has rejected a move to the Premier League in favour of Turin, where he’ll be hoping to continue his stellar goalscoring form and claim Capocannoniere by the end of May.

Vlahović currently co-leads the Serie A scoring charts with Lazio captain Ciro Immobile with 17 strikes.

Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has previously described Dusan Vlahović as “outstanding”

Midfield general Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has been crucial to Immobile’s success over the years and he’s enjoying yet another wonderful season in the capital. The Serbian has forged a telepathic understanding with Immobile at Lazio and for the national team, he has another opportunity to forge an unstoppable on-pitch bond with one of Europe’s hottest properties.

Vlahović has scored seven times in 14 caps for Serbia and Milinkovic-Savic was hugely complimentary of the 21-year-old when he spoke to FIFA last November. Speaking of the soon-to-be Juventus forward, the Lazio general said: “Good? He’s not good, he’s outstanding. I think he’s bound to become one of the greats.

“I’m quite certain the stats would back that up, considering his age. However, I think he’s the type of player who still gets annoyed when he doesn’t play well, so he’s definitely going to get better and get the world talking about him.

“In both training and matches, he never takes it lightly when he misses a chance, so he has a hunger for scoring goals and winning. I like how he wants to prove himself, so I think he’s bound to become one of the greats,” the Serbian re-iterated.

Milinkovic-Savic’s projection of Vlahović is incredibly exciting for Juventus fans, and who knows, perhaps the Juve hierarchy attempt to unite the Serbian teammates in Piedmont for the 2022/23 domestic season.

Milinkovic-Savic has been on the Bianconeri’s radar for years and they’re currently crying out for a midfielder of his profile.
