Arthur Melo (CM) – 7/10 – This wasn’t the cleanest of Arthur performance displays with the ball as Verona made a concerted effort to shut him down in the build-up phase. Adrien Tameze was on his case in the first half. Without the ball, the Brazilian is coming on leaps and bounds. He’s proving to be a tenacious figure in the middle of the park.

Denis Zakaria (CM) – 7/10 – There was some nervous energy emanating from Zakaria in the opening exchanges as he struggled to get in the game. Nevertheless, sequences of exciting quality became more frequent as the contest wore on. This was best exemplified by his coolly-taken debut goal. A promising start.

Adrien Rabiot (CM) – 6.5/10 – There were a couple of boneheaded moments, sure, but this was a performance that Allegri would’ve appreciated. Rabiot offered thrust from midfield in transition moments while adding plenty of bite without the ball. He suited this role.
