Danilo headed home a late equaliser for Juventus as they held Atalanta to a 1-1 draw in Bergamo to keep their noses in front of La Dea in the top-four race.

The Bianconeri dominated the opening exchanges before Atalanta grew into the contest before half-time. An end-to-end encounter ensued in the second period as neither side could establish any control but it was the hosts who found themselves in front via a trademark Ruslan Malinovskyi screamer.

Juve struggled to get back into the game after falling behind but Danilo bailed them out at the death with a fine header from Paulo Dybala’s corner. The point leaves the Bianconeri ahead of Atalanta in the top-four race, but they failed to gain ground on Serie A’s leaders amid their unlikely bid to join the Scudetto fight.

Here are our Juventus player ratings from the 1-1 draw with Atalanta in Serie A.

Wojciech Szczesny (GK) – 5.5/10 – A moment of madness from Tek almost cost his side in the first half as he came rushing out for no apparent reason in a bid to deny Teun Koopmeiners. It’s safe to say that he is NOT a sweeper keeper. Nevertheless, Szczesny’s hands were safe throughout and we’re not going to criticise him too much for failing to stop Malinovskyi’s piledriver.

Danilo (RB)  – 7/10 – Juventus’ hero. It was Danilo that leapt the highest from Dybala’s corner to steal a crucial point for the Bianconeri. The Brazilian struggled early but grew into the contest in the second half before ending the bout at centre-back.

Leonardo Bonucci (CB) – 6/10 – Bonucci was outshone by his partner on the night but he looked much more comfortable compared to Thursday night, even if he didn’t look entirely fit. The Italian was brought off with ten minutes remaining.

Matthijs de Ligt (CB) – 8.5/10 – The two blocks to deny Jeremie Boga just before half-time epitomised De Ligt’s brilliance. The Dutchman had no right to shun Boga’s efforts. Overall, this was the sort of centre-back display that supports the idea of De Ligt soon establishing himself as one of Europe’s very best defenders.

Mattia De Sciglio (LB) – 6.5/10 – Assured throughout, De Sciglio provided stability and balance down the left. He was put to the test by Atalanta’s dynamism and craft down the right, but he held firm for the most part.
