Following a rebuild-defining January mercato that saw Juventus secure the services of Fiorentina marksman Dusan Vlahovic, the Bianconeri are poised for a busy summer and steps are already being made the rejuvenate one position in particular.

While there have been murmurs of the Bianconeri potentially targeting Nicolo Zaniolo and Giacomo Raspadori, likely if Paulo Dybala doesn’t re-sign with the club, Juve’s way too early summer priority appears to be signing a new left-back.

Alex Sandro’s demise has perpetuated miserably this season and while Massimiliano Allegri’s unjustified faith in the veteran has been frustrating this season, the club are proactively seeking a replacement for the Brazilian.

Juventus’ search for a new left-back is well underway

TuttoJuve reporter Mirko Di Natale reported on Tuesday morning that Juventus have identified several players to potentially replace Alex Sandro in the summer.

Di Natale writes that the current “hottest target” is Genoa’s Andrea Cambiaso. Juve were linked with a move for the 21-year-old towards the end of the January transfer window, but a deal was never pursued.

The young Italian has been a shining light in a miserable campaign for Genoa up to this point. In 23 Serie A appearances this season, Cambiaso has scored once and added four assists. The player’s contract expires in 2023 so the Bianconeri could move for the left-back in a cut-price deal at the end of the current campaign.

Juventus are believed to have already opened talks with Genoa over a move for Cambiaso, with calciomercato.com adding that the Ligurians are demanding a fee in the region of €10m.

The Old Lady, though, have other targets. According to Di Natale, Udinese’s Destiny Udogie, AZ Alkmaar’s Owen Wijndal and Empoli’s Fabiano Parisi are all names to look out for in the club’s search.

Their list of targets aligns with the idea of a youthful revolution manifesting in Turin. At 22 years old, Wijndal is the oldest among Juve’s reported targets with the profiles of each player notably similar. The Bianconeri have a vision.
