Genoa’s Cambiaso is reportedly Juve’s “hottest target” to replace Alex Sandro and it’s understandable as to why. Alongside Bianconeri loanee Nicolo Rovella, Cambiaso has been the standout performer for a dire Genoa outfit.

The 21-year-old left-back is full of energy and his exuberance has translated into production this season. He’s registered four assists and scored once in Serie A.

Cambiaso’s high-octane nature has seen him emerge as a fan-favourite in Liguria but his departure from the Serie B-destined outfit appears inevitable in the summer. Juventus are likely to be one of several clubs interesting in securing a deal for the Italian with Genoa supposedly demanding a fee in the region of €10m.

For that price, signing Cambiaso appears to be a no-brainer for the Bianconeri. However, he’s raw and will require nurturing to mature into Alex Sandro’s long-term successor. And that’s why he isn’t our number one option.
