Wijndal is by far and away the most experienced player on this list. The Dutchman has played 128 league games for AZ Alkmaar and Jong AZ since making his senior debut as a precocious 16-year-old.

Now 22, Wijndal’s trajectory is still trending upwards and he’s surely on the verge of securing a big move away from Alkmaar. The full-back is a perennial overlapper who loves to bomb on down his flank and contribute in the final third. After notching six Eredivise assists in back-to-back seasons in 2019/20 and 2020/21, Wijndal already has eight this season.

The Dutchman’s a confident, aggressive and adventurous left-back who places a tremendous amount of faith in his ability. He’s technically proficient, calm under pressure and has demonstrated in the past his capacity to perform an inverted left-back function. That depicts a footballer who’s intelligent and tactically astute.

While Wijndal’s eagerness and aggression can occasionally be his downfall, especially against wiser and superior opposition, the Dutchman is without question the player on this list that’s the most proven, talented and boasts the highest potential.
