Things just haven’t gone to plan for Moise Kean since he marked his return to Juventus in the wake of Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure last summer.

Stunned by Ronaldo’s late exit in the transfer window, the Bianconeri were forced into action but the limited options at their disposal meant they were almost forced to settle for a familiar face in Kean.

The Italian international had broken out under Massimiliano Allegri’s tutelage in Turin before moving to Everton and enjoying a successful loan spell at Paris Saint-Germain. Thus, when Juve brokered the deal to bring the striker back on an initial loan with an obligation to buy, many were content with the signing – even if no one expected him to match Ronaldo’s staggering output.

However, Kean’s 2021/22 campaign up to this point has been disappointing. He’s struggled to cement himself in Allegri’s starting XI and in 689 minutes of Serie A action, the 21-year-old’s scored just three times.

At this stage, Kean simply hasn’t displayed enough to suggest that he should be a regular starter for the Old Lady, especially after Dusan Vlahovic’s January arrival. The 21-year-old lacks technical refinement, and his inconsistency in this regard has been a source of frustration among Juventini this term.

His current outlook in Turin is pretty bleak, but he could be handed an escape route in the summer.

According to Tuttosport (via Team Talk), PSG are keen on bringing the young Italian back to Paris as a potential replacement for Kylian Mbappe, who remains a priority target for Real Madrid.

Poor Moise, eh? First, he was tasked with replacing a certified all-time great, now a destined all-time great!

Nevertheless, Kean enjoyed the best spell of his career on loan with Les Parisiens last season and you suspect the forward would be open to the move considering his limited opportunities at Juventus. In 2020/21, Kean scored 13 times in 26 Ligue 1 appearances, adding another three goals in nine Champions League appearances.
