Juventus are already on the hunt for a Paulo Dybala replacement and Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah is considered by the club to be the dream candidate.

It was revealed on Monday and later confirmed by Juve CEO Maurizio Arrivabene that Dybala will not be renewing his contract with the Bianconeri. As a result, La Joya is free to speak to potential suitors ahead of his departure at the end of the season.

In the aftermath of Monday’s massive update, a plethora of rumours over whom Juventus will attempt to replace the brilliant Dybala with surfaced. Domestic options such as Sassuolo pair Domenico Berardi and Giacomo Raspadori as well as AS Roma’s Nicolo Zaniolo have been linked over the past 24 hours.

However, some reports suggest that Juve’s ambition is maybe a little loftier.

Juventus are dreaming of Liverpool’s Mo Salah as Paulo Dybala’s replacement

According to Corriere della Sera, Bianconeri boss Massimiliano Allegri views Liverpool’s Salah as the ideal candidate to replace Dybala in Turin.

The Egyptian, who is arguably the world’s best player right now amid yet another incredible campaign on Merseyside, is yet to extend his deal with the Reds that expires in 2023. Salah has long been linked with a move to Real Madrid, but Los Blancos’ infatuation with Kylian Mbappe means it’s unlikely that they’ll be pursuing the 29-year-old anytime soon.

Juve, meanwhile, are said to be prioritising moves for players at other positions this summer which means that they could instead try and sign Salah once his deal at Anfield expires. That possibility, however, appears incredibly unlikely.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reporter Giovanni Albanese writes that the Bianconeri are considering what it’ll take from a financial perspective to prise Salah away from Liverpool and bring him to Turin. The Egyptian currently earns a monster €12m salary with the Reds, and there’s no doubting that a healthy fee will be required to sign the winger this summer, even if he only has a year left on his deal.

For now, this rumour can be pushed into the ‘pipedream’ category, but that isn’t to say it’s an impossibility. Very few foreshadowed Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival in 2018, while Dusan Vlahovic’s January signing was unexpected, to say the least.

You never know what you’re going to get from this rebuilding Juventus, who are in for a busy and unpredictable summer.
