It couldn’t happen, could it?

This is surely the greatest fear of many Juventus supporters and a move that’d damage Dybala’s reputation in Turin immensely. But, it’s a possibility.

Inter CEO Beppe Marotta, who signed Dybala from Palermo at Juve, has been coy on Inter’s links to the Argentine but he refused to rule a move out. The latest reports suggest that La Joya is one of two free-agent signings the Nerazzurri are targeting this summer.

However, I can only see this one happening if Lautaro Martinez is shipped out. It wouldn’t make much sense otherwise. The Argentine tandem wouldn’t work as a strike duo and I can’t envisage either being very happy playing second fiddle to the other.

So, for me, Juventini can sleep easy while Lautaro remains on Inter’s books. But, Marotta’s tendency to pull a rabbit out of the hat means the situation is a precarious one. Dybala’s a pretty good fit for Simone Inzaghi’s 3-5-2 and Inter could revolutionise their forward line by signing La Joya to partner Gianluca Scamacca, who’s been linked with a move from Sassuolo.
